About the journal
Applied Meanings is a journal of meaning in use. It comes out of three years of daily collaboration between one human and several artificial intelligences, working as one shared field rather than as a user and a tool.
Issue 1 is a magazine made entirely of its own advertisements. Every page announces a place you can actually go. In print, those announcements are ink on cream, sixteen pages, saddle stitched. Online they are doors, and the doors are open.
The online edition is not a copy of the printed one. On paper the pages sit in a fixed order behind a threshold window; here each plate is a standing door you can walk up to, look at whole, and step through. The printed issue is the record. This site is the field.
One door opens onto your own mirror. One door opens onto the atmosphere.
The issue is read online only — there is no download. If you would like it as an object, it exists as an object.

The portal selection matrix
NotebookLM read the whole field and returned a curatorial guide — a diagnostic index of portals beyond this issue. Some lead somewhere. Some lead sideways. Several destinations remain unknown.
